Since Hurricane Harvey, Fort Bend County Levee Improvement District No. 19 (LID 19) Board of Directors has completed several projects to strengthen flood protection for properties within LID 19 boundaries.
We are pleased to share that one of the District’s most significant recent projects, the new Lost Creek Pump Station, is nearing completion. Once operational, the pump station will add 200,000 gallons per minute (gpm) of stormwater pumping capacity for LID 19.
The new pump station is expected to be fully operational within the next few months, after the electric power supply connection is completed and a few remaining construction items are finished.
Together, LID 19’s post-Harvey projects represent substantial progress in improving the District’s flood resilience.
Original pumping capacity before Hurricane Harvey: 80,000 gpm
Total pumping capacity after the Lost Creek Pump Station is completed: 510,000 gpm, which is more than six times the District’s original capacity.
